With over 38 years of dedicated service to the vocal coaching profession, Cari Cole is one of the foremost authorities on vocal training. Her unwavering commitment to excellence has earned her recognition from prestigious academic institutions and some of the biggest names in modern music.
Across her illustrious career, Cari's focus on contemporary commercial vocal styles rooted in Bel Canto and operatic singing has set her apart. Cari has taught masterclasses at Columbia University, NYU, City College (NY), and was on the Board of Directors of NYSTA (New York Singing Teachers Association) for several years. In addition to a rich roster of emerging and independent artists, her clientele also includes such legends as Courtney Love and the band Journey, Grammy winners Donald Fagen/Steely Dan and Chrisette Michele as well as singer-songwriters Diane Birch and finalists from the hit TV series American Idol and The Voice.
Throughout her journey as a singer and a vocal coach, Cari faced the challenge of preserving her vocal integrity in the contemporary music scene she adored.
Determined to find a solution, she embarked on a quest to uncover a technique that would preserve her voice while granting her the power and precision she craved. She sought guidance from countless vocal coaches, but it wasn't until she crossed paths with her mentor—an esteemed classical singer trained in vocal science—that everything changed.
Under her mentor's guidance, Cari underwent a remarkable transformation. She delved deep into the mechanics of the voice, exploring the intricacies of diaphragmatic breathing, operatic Bel Canto, and the healing power of yoga.
Through years of dedicated study and practice, she crafted what would become The Cole Vocal Method™—a groundbreaking approach to vocal training that marries ancient holistic wisdom with modern science.
