Most artists have this perpetual sinking feeling that they are not in the right place at the right time and that time is running out on them..
Well I’m here to tell ya two things:
1. That is a complete farce ….. absolutely an illusion
2. and…. um … it’s partly true — but only to the degree that you are procrastinating.
The truth is:
If you are sitting around hoping and waiting to be discovered (procrastinating really) …
then time is running out on you —
because..
You could have been spending all of those precious hours working at your talent and becoming the best dang artist (I’ve been hanging out with a bunch o’ Southern folks lately).. that you can possibly be— and making plans to take over the world —
Right?
I couldn’t agree more.
I think music and being an artist is the coolest – – most awesome thing on the planet to do!!
Don’t you?
Here’s three things to do to keep that clock from tickin’ on you..
1 ~ Write the best dang songs you can write(there’s that word again)
Insider Tip: Plan a co-writing session – a great songwriting partner makes it flow faster and easier!
2 ~ Plan a great live show for this summer and then plan your rehearsal schedule and get a date on the calendar.
3 ~ Build your network. Meet one new industry person per week(not hard to do online these days — FB, Twitter, Linked In are awesome ways to connect — connect with me there if ya haven’t already — see links at the bottom of this email)
