Normal for us creative types … it takes time to create music – hello- – –
BUT..
You can’t get things moving living in a vacuum!
Time to re-connect with the human race!
Music conferences (the right ones) are actually an awesome way to super charge your musical battery, make some cool new friends, network and hear new music ~ all at the same time..
I’ve been to the ASCAP I Create Music Expo several times and have never been disappointed – not once. (Also keep in mind – I am one of those folks who milks every ounce of value I can get out of everything! …which is a highly recommended trait to acquire ~ and totally under-rated!)
BUT, REALLY. The ASCAP Conference on Apr 22-24 in LA is an off-the-hook time filled with big stars as well as incredible songwriting clinics from the real writers in the industry and much more — concerts every night — lotsa fun hangin’ too! It’s definitely the real deal and well worth attending. I always leave super inspired – – I wrote one of my best songs ever on the plane back to NYC.
This year boasts in-person interviews with big stars JOHN MAYER, LUDACRIS and QUINCY JONES, among others. A master class with Producer, Label Owner (James Blunt) ~ Songwriter (Beautiful, Christina Aguilera) ~ or Linda Perry ~ is to die for..
