On to the ASCAP Expo. It’s coming up on April 19th in L.A. It’s one of my favorite music conferences. Between the platinum/gold songwriters, producers, and stars peppering the rooms, and the industry studded panels and workshops, it’s a career (and life) changing experience. As a singer-songwriter, I made significant contacts there for my career and as a coach & mentor, the conference is a phenomenal way to network and connect with 2500 like-minded souls who make music and hang with industry pals. And – it’s a blast.

Someone once said to me – and it’s true – the only thing in the way of you and your career is – you. That’s not necessarily good news, but the sooner you face it – the sooner you change it. Because, what I know for certain is that you can do anything you set your mind to, as long as you have courage and persistence. What you want is possible – achievable – but you have to get up off you’re a## to make it happen. There’s no way anyone can move mountains from your living room or the rehearsal studio – you’ve GOT to make the key connections you need. The Expo is a perfect way to do that.
